A Gingerbread Town is Built!
A "note" from Mrs. Getchell!
I think our greatest accomplishment over the past few weeks must be our glorious Gingerbread Town! As we finished our unit on Maps and Globes, I noticed the class was very interested in models. I thought a fun way to wrap up the unit would be to create our own town. Before vacation, students collected milk cartons to paint and decorate. They labeled their buildings and decided where they should be. The kids were so creative! They even created streetlights and ponds and walkways to add more detail. Our town is proudly on display in the classroom for all to see and enjoy!

Sailor Dominic Evangelista Surprises Grade 1 Students
Mrs. Berteletti's 1st grade class had a surprise treat the day before the Winter break. Sailor Dominic Evangelista, a 2014 Stoughton High graduate, was home for the holidays from the U.S. Navy. Mrs. Berteletti's class had written Sailor Dom a letter in November when they learned about Veteran's Day and he had told them that he would come to visit them sometime to play football with them. The rain kept them inside, but the students had some great questions for him. He even got an appreciative hug from one student.
