Native American Presentation to Grade One!

Mrs. Tucker is a first grade parent who shared many artifacts from her tribe and other tribes around the United States. All the first grade students were invited to hear her presentation on Tuesday, November 25th. Students enjoyed learning about the artifacts and hearing about how the American Indians used the all of the resources in their environment.  Thanks to Mrs. Tucker for her wonderful presentation!

End of the Year Principal's Message

Dear West Parents/Guardians,

Is it really the end of another school year? It seems as if I just welcomed your children on their first day of school. We ended this school year with many successful events; i.e. Field Day. Move Up Day, Grade 5 Celebration. I wish to thank you all for your continued support throughout the year.

I would especially like to take this opportunity to thank all who have volunteered their time and efforts this year. You have donated your time in many ways including: School Council, PTO, Book Fair, Bingo for Books, Read to Win, chaperones for field trips, assisting at field day, etc. Without you the many opportunities offered to our students would not be possible. The West School Community is very grateful for all you have done and continue to do.

I would be remiss if I did not thank my staff for their outstanding dedication to the education and the well-being of your children. They are true professionals in the finest sense of the word. They are lifelong learners who spend many hours outside of the school day in preparation for their responsibilities and commitment to their students. I am proud to be their “educational leader”.

Due to the expected movement of students into and out of the West district throughout the summer, class assignments will not be completed until August. In preparation for the 2014-2015 school year, you will receive a welcome back letter towards the end August with pertinent information including your child’s teacher/class assignment.

As always, if you have any questions or if I can be of any assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact me. Have a wonderful summer!

Sincerely,

Margaret Morgan
